Zizek: The Reality of the Virtual (2004)

First let me say that Netflix totally kicks ass! I'm thrilled that a movie whore such as myself with an ever-espanding DVD library of MY VERY OWN at home that contains some 1,500 titles can find odd obscure gems on Netflix and learn some neat new stuff!

SECOND...SEE THIS FILM! IT'LL BLOW YOUR FUCKING MIND!
It's basically just Slavoj Zizek talking to the camera...it's like being at a lecture or something...like in some sort of think-tank fucking university...it's fucking awesome!

Director Ben Wright's film captures a provocative lecture on the nature of belief by Slovenian philosopher and cultural theorist Slavoj Zizek . Zizek draws heavily on Lacanian principles as he expounds on democracy, universal truth, materialism, utopianism and other culturally and politically charged topics. A professor at the University of Ljubljana, Zizek gained international recognition in 1989 with his work The Sublime Object of Ideology.
