Say Anything (1989)

I (heart) Lloyd Dobler.
I want him to be my first.

...saw this film for the FIRST TIME last night and think it's probably one of the sweetest teen-romance pictures I've ever seen!

Zizek: The Reality of the Virtual (2004)

First let me say that Netflix totally kicks ass! I'm thrilled that a movie whore such as myself with an ever-espanding DVD library of MY VERY OWN at home that contains some 1,500 titles can find odd obscure gems on Netflix and learn some neat new stuff!

SECOND...SEE THIS FILM! IT'LL BLOW YOUR FUCKING MIND!
It's basically just Slavoj Zizek talking to the camera...it's like being at a lecture or something...like in some sort of think-tank fucking university...it's fucking awesome!

Director Ben Wright's film captures a provocative lecture on the nature of belief by Slovenian philosopher and cultural theorist Slavoj Zizek . Zizek draws heavily on Lacanian principles as he expounds on democracy, universal truth, materialism, utopianism and other culturally and politically charged topics. A professor at the University of Ljubljana, Zizek gained international recognition in 1989 with his work The Sublime Object of Ideology.

5 things in films that I do not like:

1. people wearing fat suits
2. too much mucus-gore (regular gore is fine)
3. close ups of puking
4. epic slow motion scenes like in Seabiscuit or Chariots of Fire
5. julia roberts

Death of a President (2006)

a thought-provoking mockumentary about the assassination of President George W. Bush.

inspired by the controversial 2006 mockumentary "Death of a President":

KILLING THE PRESIDENT

Blood gushes from a Bush

and Dick rises

a little too quick and a little too eager

to fit tight

a rotten cavity

...and we're all fucked.

READ! : Herzog on Herzog (ed by Paul Cronin)

If I had to read one book over and over and over again for the rest of my life it would be THIS BOOK! mind-staggeringly brilliant! basically Werner Herzog's philosophies in his OWN WONDERFUL WORDS. Truth to the myth and rumour that normally surrounds this great film maker.

Haiku: Bubble

==BUBBLE 2006==

factory town folk.
routine deception: all lies.
make dolls, are dolls. sad.

Haiku: Straw Dogs

Straw Dogs: 1971 (starring Dustin Hoffman)
